Carromclub in Scotland?

I’m assuming this video was taken in Scotland because of the accents.
If it is, that’s good news.
I wonder if they would like to start a Carromclub?
Anyway, they were given a carrom board as a wedding present.
What a nice gift, much better than china, cutlery, pots and pans.
And once the honeymoon is over I hope they enjoy many an evening, flicking around.

Future champion

Divya is definitely Champion material.
I hope she lives in the UK and continues to practice.
We need al the carrom players we can get.
Have a look at her playing carrom.
OK she makes up the rules as she goes along, but as she is not yet 4 years old, she is forgiven.

Play Carrom to Raise Money For School Fete

At last, the Equinox
Now the days will be longer than the nights.
I hope they are warmer too.
Soon the clocks will be moved an hour forward.
The kids will start bringing home reams of paper from school, encouraging parents to get involved with various fund-raising activities.
So why not do it the easy way.
Drag your carrom board out from under the bed, clear away the cobwebs covering it, find all the pieces and strikers, and set up a Carrom game in the school hall.
Charge £1-2 a game.
Hold a mini competition if you like.
Set a time limit if you must.
Say you have 4-5 games an hour, fom 11am-4pm that’s only £20 worst scenario, but the school will still appreciate it. Every little bit helps.
It could be £50 and if you had two boards you could double that. Ask to borrow them from friends, relatives or neighbours.
Or get some-one to sponsor them. They would be an investment, as they can be used year after year.
You could also sell samosas to people waiting in the queue. They’re easy and cheap to make.
It wouldn’t take much effort and the kids and parents would enjoy it I’m sure.
And don’t dump it under the bed again. Keep it out. Use it. Enjoy it. It makes a change from watching the box.
I just wish I’d thought of this years ago when my kids were at school.
Of course I had more energy then, but I would still have preferred to play carrom than some of the things I was asked to do.

Amazing trick shots

There are 137500 videos when you type in snooker to Google. Not bad for a game that started out from carrom, or so it is claimed.
There are 34 when you type carrom.
What we need is a showman like this guy. He is a very good snooker player too.
He’s known as the Japanese snookerhero.

Carrom game

I found this game on the net.
I hope this helps you pass some time. Relax. It’s fun.
Thanks go to Karandeep Singh and here he is.
Have a look at his webpage.k.singh
A medical student who sings too. Oh to be young again.

Carom acronym

What does CAROM stand for?
Believe it or not it actually stands for Content Addressable Read Only Memory.
It has something to do with computers. I’m not techy enough to understand.
CAROM
If you can make up an acronym for Carrom or Carom there is a prize of a champion striker for the best one.
E.G. Can Anyone Really Offer More?
I’m sure you can do better than this.
There were no acronym for Carrom.

Try before you buy carrom boards

In the UK there are a few places where you can buy Carrom.
However here is a new place where you can try before you buy in London. Only on a Sunday though.
Carromcafe, Spitalfields Market
Speak to the people running the stall. They are keen to help and are well informed of anything happening on the carrom front.

Some local Indian grocery stores in and around London occasionally stock the odd carrom board or two.

Carrom players in Croydon

What do Carrom, Koi fish, Folk music, the Blues, budgies, a kids’ playgroup and Irish dancing have in common?irish.jpg
That’s just some of the activities you can take part in, at Ruskin House.

Carrom is played every month at Ruskin House in Croydon. As soon as I have any more information I shall let you know. Or if you live nearby, or not, drop in.

If anyone out there knows anything about the `Carrom League` of Croydon we’d be really interested.

Carrom Xenzia

Stop that racket.

I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and blaming the quality of the recording.

The band is called Carrom Xenzia.

I don’t know anything about them, so if anyone out there does, tell us what you can.

Photos would be nice. Why did you pick the name?

I hope they can play the game better than they can sing.

It’s like most things in life, boys, to be any good you have to practice.

So remember us when you become rich and famous.

Keep it up. You have to start somewhere and good luck.

If you become the next big thing, don’t change your name.

New motto; Carrom is cool.
